Position Description

The Website Administrator is responsible for strategizing, developing, implementing, and managing website merchandising programs across the Hinkley digital experiences to drive conversion, sales and margin. Ensures cohesion in the representation of Hinkley’s products online and creates customer-centric digital merchandising plans. This role collaborates with our external web developers to manage site design, development, testing and maintenance. Responsible for analyzing website performance and taking a proactive approach by identifying improvement opportunities and driving implementation. Provides support for email campaigns, digital product catalogs in partnership with the marketing team.

This full-time role is based at Hinkley company headquarters in Avon Lake, OH. This position will require working on-site in our offices. Once person is fully trained the role may have flexibility for up to 2 days per week of remote work.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology, Business, Merchandising or Graphic Design.
  • 5+ years’ experience working on websites within eCommerce and/or IT department.
  • Expert understanding of eCommerce site merchandising, catalog, item data, and digital products.
  • Detailed understanding of product data, data structures, and data management
  • Detailed understanding of the underlying technology used to deliver Ecommerce experiences.
  • Knowledge of digital, marketing and business measurement technologies and frameworks such as web analytics software, dashboard platforms, etc.
  • Flexibility and agility in managing complex deliverables in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate with internal groups.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MS Office and web technologies and applications.
  • Knowledge of software including: Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Front End, Macromedia Flash and Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Articulate.
  • Experience in web-based graphic design or web interface design.
  • Proficient in working with Windows and Mac environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English.
  • Experience with audio/video demonstration technologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
  • Must have strong negotiation skills as well as excellent analytical abilities.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Integrity, sense of responsibility, sense of urgency, independent judgment.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the design, development and maintenance of Hinkley’s website and other related electronic publications and applications.
  • Collaborates with external web developers to create and operate internal and external web sites, and to manage projects, such as e-marketing campaigns. Supports validation of site experience from upfront strategy planning to reviewing previews of site changes and signing off on updates and launches.
  • Oversees the merchandising responsibilities for Hinkley’s website, responsible for product and content set-up, site QA activities and KPI reporting.
  • Supports Marketing teams by developing compelling merchandising themes and story-telling across categories to drive conversion, sales and margin.
  • Drives site optimization, search function, online navigation, product sorting and overall site presentation based on analytics.
  • Responsible for UX/UI and testing initiatives.
  • Examines site daily/weekly to ensure products are in the correct categories, links lead to the correct categories/pages and product set up is accurate, creating a seamless customer experience.
  • Provides reports to key business units to ensure best practices and ongoing evolution of marketing efforts.
  • Partners with Marketing and Sales leadership to define holistic site merchandising strategies. Advises cross-functional partners on site merchandising strategy and methods and techniques to engage customers online.
  • Provide meaningful insights into performance of and customer interaction with website content such as categories, featured placements (including promotions), taxonomy and general experiences to identify improvement opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor the marketplace and competitive set for emerging online trends and new ideas related to the online consumer shopping experience, site presentation and web technology.
  • Other duties as directed by the Director of Marketing.
