1973
Glad Mealor and Ronald Pratt established Plumbing Distributors, Inc at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. Glad and his son Sid, manned the small business which offered counter sales and delivery.
PDI Growth
1984 - 2006
As PDI continued to grow, the need for a larger facility became evident. The company wanted to stay close to its roots in the Lawrenceville area. A piece of property was obtained in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road that had easy access to Georgia Highway 316. From 1984 to 2006, PDI's Corporate Headquarters were located at 20 Collins Hill Road, but once again, to meet the need for growth and expansion, PDI needed to move. On January 16, 2006, PDI relocated to its new and current location at 1025 Old Norcross Road in Lawrenceville. With 137,000 square feet, the building allows plenty of room for continued expansion.

As their customer base expanded, PDI knew they must expand with new branches to keep their customer service top-notch.

Always seeking opportunities to improve their business, PDI joined the Kohler distribution team in 1989. With the name recognition and the broadness of their line, Kohler enabled PDI to offer a more complete plumbing package to their customers.

1993
Another beneficial addition to their product selection was Rheem Water Heaters in 1993.

Kohler and PDI have partnered to expanding availability of its renowned bath and kitchen products with the opening of the Kohler Signature Store by PDI, in Buckhead. Solely owned by PDI, the store will service the needs of both trade professionals and consumers by providing inspirational design, quality products, relevant resources, and exceptional service.
